Bad Boyfriends - Songs Yer Mom Taught Us
Release date: 2016 Genre: Lo-fi, punk rock Notes: Almost slacker-rock-ish in a nice way. Feels like if Free Weed had a punk side project (if you don't know them, imagine a lo-fi artist called Free Weed and you're probably right.) Sweet simplicity. |
Beautiful Mutants - Unreleased
Release date: ≈1999 Genre: Synthpunk, experimental Notes: Shards left in the aftermath of the mutant punk band Beautiful Mutants. Less like normal leftover demos and more like glass littering the road after a car crash. Sometimes catchy, sometimes menacing punk, an odd synthpop song, and frankly disturbing experimental tracks. |
Collapse - EP.1
Release date: 2021 Genre: Punk, emo Notes: Angsty combination of the two genres I would think I should see in combination more but usually don't. |
Find Him And Kill Him - Demo Tape
Release date: August 6th, 2001 Genre: Hardcore punk Notes: 48 seconds per track on average; now that's hardcore. According to the YouTube comments, one of the guys ended up becoming vice principal at a school and this band is an in joke amongst students. The original uploader had the tape sitting in a sun-soaked car in California for the greater part of a decade, so it has a nice lo-fi haze over it. |
SIMFUCKERS - DEMO TWOTHOUSANDANDTHIRTEEN
Release date: 2013 Genre: Punk rock, grindcore? Notes: Hardcore punk that sounds like it was recorded on a Nokia, then onto tape. |
The Rolling Scabs - Live at Gilman St. Project
Release date: 1990 Genre: Punk rock Notes: Improvised punk rock, headed by two preteens. I suggest reading more here. |
LOCAL TRAP - DEMO 2011

Beautiful Mutants - Live @ KCR
Release date: 1998 Genre: Lo-fi, synth punk Notes: Subversive synthpunk with an almost Negativland ethos regarding consumerism and counterculture but a catchy, almost poppy sound courtesy of Lauren Bousfield on synths. Pleasantly lo-fi but noticably well-produced, whoever was involved did a great job. |
Beautiful Mutants - Beautiful Mutants
Release date: 2000 Genre: Synthpunk Notes: Absolute fucking smash hit synthpunk. In a just world, this would remembered as a classic. Teenage dropouts watching the system collapse under it's own weight. Beautiful Mutants was Lauren Bousfield's first project, and while edgier and less refined than her later work, it's still brilliant. |
Beautiful Mutants - Who Feeds on Whom?
Release date: 1999 Genre: Synthpunk Notes: Funky, almost poppy synthpunk prancing around a technological apocalypse while reminding us; we did this to ourselves. |
Beautiful Mutants - Rock'n'Roll Mind Control
Release date: 1998 Genre: Lo-fi, synthpunk Notes: Death! Death! Death to the normals! |
ビービビビ(Beabebebe) Discography

ISS - STUDS
Release date: 2016 Genre: Punk rock Notes: Old-school punk demos. Listen to the last track, please. Interesting group. |
Please note: incelcore is a Soundcloud-based rock scene. The name is intentionally over the top (it was informally founded by an artist called "School Shooter," if that gives you any idea what we're dealing with here.) Ignore the name for just a minute, please; the 2016-2019 scene was a loosely affiliated community of oddball artists creating some seriously unique, creative, and cool music. Unfortunately in 2020 it absolutely blew up and imploded on itself, with many people with zero self awareness taking the "incelcore" name very literally and adding nothing new to the genre aside from the same edgy cliches in a cesspool that almost all of the original artists have abandoned. Personally, I still love sodaboy64, willow, and spree. |
sodaboy64 - live at the velvet cowboy
Release date: July 11th, 2020 Genre: Incelcore, alternative rock Notes: You have *no* idea how cool it was to be actively listening and involved in this stuff as an edgelord teenager. Sodaboy64 still rocks. |

Fried by Fluoride - Fried
Release date: November 24th, 2020 Genre: Incelcore, alternative rock Notes: Even if this is around the point I gave up on the scene, I have a soft spot for Fried by Fluoride. He has a good heart (not literally, the real one is probably ruined by energy drinks.) |

Shooter’s music at first appears like a distillation of chan-culture edge-lordery, but believe me, it is a deep lament." |
spree - ratskin rathole
