I can only imagine how this band came about, but luckily it did.
Active in 1988, The Scabs was a punk band fronted by two preteens,
seemingly improvising lyrics and playing numerous shows. It certainly doesn't
disappoint from that description, and here someone dug up some more context from the original record.

but they've also explored post-nightcore, vaporwave, and ravey sound collage.

Nice as this particular release is, I more want to introduce Saito Koji as
a whole. I'm only now finding out about him but he's been making ambient,
guitar improvisations, field recordings, and other music in that realm for
decades and tends to self-publish his prolific output on his bandcamp without
covers or explanations, as you see here. What I've heard has a refreshing simplicity
and certainly speaks of someone dedicated to his unique art.

is downright intimidating, especially considering that the countries and languages

Chinese and Taiwanese classical when trying to remedy this once and it was more
approachable and enjoyable than I expected, and it's as good an example as any of
the worlds of music out there.

perfection. Shurayuki-hime is one such artist and this is probably my favorite
work of theirs, pure clean minimal ANW.

a one-off side project of theirs. (The label's fallen victim to linkrot and all the downloads
are dead (god bless soulseek.)) It's three short tracks of speedcore, noisy sample nonsense,
and melodic hardcore. Quick and silly but an enjoyable example of a scene that's faded into obscurity.

handful of artists have followed suite and created the microgenre of browser beats (vaporwave-style

Zero Width Non-Joiner seems as good an example as any of this new style. No DAWs, no post-processing,
doing the most with the bare minimum digital music can run on.

a room but remained relatively untouched, thankfully, since it's a pretty good
selection of 90s techno. A bit basic and repetive but good cyber background music.
Would probably pair well with whatever drugs techno people did then. (Also, someone
at the company screwed up and printed a gospel tracklist on the inside. The label
doesn't even carry gospel.)

For an artist known for depressive breakcore, Sorry veered off in
in quite a different direction and packed six tracks to the brim
with emo rap samples, glitchiness, and hard/breakcore, all of which
went together disconcertingly naturally. Not sure if it'll have the
same effect on you, but I went from thinking Sorry was overrated to
blowing my mind in no time flat and every track is like that.
